A Sip of Sangria CP Soap Recipe

To a polypropylene pitcher, add distilled water. To a polypropylene container, weigh out the lye.

Slowly add the lye to the water, stirring until lye is completely dissolved. Set aside in a safe place to cool.

To a large heat-safe container, add all the oils and butters, except fragrance. Heat on stove top until melted. Set aside to cool.

To two separate beakers, pour 0.5 oz. of melted oils into each.

Add 1/2 tsp. of neon pink powder to one beaker, mix well. To the other beaker of oil, add 1/2 tsp. of neon orange powder and mix. Set beakers aside.

Check temperatures of the lye water and then of the oil/butter mixture. When both are about the same temperature around 120°F, you are ready to mix them together.

Place your immersion blender in the oils and tap on the bottom of the bowl to "burp" it.

Slowly and carefully pour your lye water over the shaft of the blender. Blend your ingredients until they come to a light trace.

Add the Pink Sangria Fragrance Oil and hand stir into the soap mixture until blended.

Carefully separate the mixture into 2 containers to add color. If you prefer more of one color, then divide the mixture accordingly. We divided 60-40, adding more orange than pink.

Add orange powder to the larger amount of soap. Using a spatula, mix the color in well. In the other bowl, add pink powder to the smaller amount of mix. Using a spatula, again, mix the color in until the entire mixture is one color.

Pour the pink color into the orange colored bowl. Using a spatula, do a quick pot swirl technique with your spatula.

Pour the mixture into the mold. You can 'play' with the texture on the top of the soap if you like. Top with the salt blend and allow a little time to set up.

Carefully insulate the sides of the loaf with towels. After it has set up some, lightly cover the top as well.

After 24 hours, you can unmold the loaf and cut the soap into 1 inch slices. Allow the soap to cure for 4-6 weeks before using. Check the pH to be sure it is at a skin-safe level.

Package as desired and label product accordingly.
